Just another being
Just another being looking out for myself from a vanishing place, bolstered and blocked, tensely facing feelings, people, things in a twisting world hurled through endless void -- seeking trails through trackless waters, tracing tattoos on vanishing flesh, huddling in borrowed homes.
Still awareness rests behind like space, knowing everywhere I live and die. Time to meet the mind behind the mind. Again and again, glimpse total presence, passing thoughts like the flash of fish in vast waters.
Releasing bounds is liberation into space, always happening though hidden from my gaze. Tangled habits, bedazzlement, compulsive being -- all peacefully met in stillness.
As seeking settles, breath breathes itself. Mind fills and feels the body. The mind's eye gazes at boundless clear sky. From that sky, limitless loving appearances spontaneously emerge, inviting focused attention on their glorious forms. They rest on cushions of light, gazing back with unbounded care, humming with power. No mere words, this pure seeing starts warm waves of light flowing through you, fills your nose with fragrance, feeds you luminous nectar, spontaneously pours through your body, soaks in through your pores, washes you.
Body and mind alike immersed in the glow, awareness gathers in a small orb of light in the heart-center without edge or corner. Fueled by inflowing bliss, this orb sends light in all directions as far as thought and sense can go, and receives back all appearances as fuel for awareness to be totally, naturally present.
From time to time, drop any stance, leave thoughts unspun, no longer pushing – just drop it all and rest within the momentum. Natural stillness neither claims nor denies.
Within this very fathomless, intimate, ownerless, vast heart may I welcome unconditional love as the dawning sun that lights my path. May spectra of nectar interpenetrate all worlds and nurture all beings.
An eon is instantaneous. Each atom holds worlds. Thereby, unconditional love is also complete knowing and unbounded power. Until I know awareness just as it is, may I keep practicing! May these words bring merit and joy to all who read or hear them.
